What is "The Changeling" About?
In 1928, in Los Angeles a grief stricken woman named Christine Collins comes home from work to find her son, Walter has disappeared. She reports this to the LAPD and eventually, five months later they tell her that they have found him. When Christine sees her son she tells the LAPD that it is not her son. He doesn't look like her son and he is also a lot shorter than Walter. The LAPD try to help her by calling a Doctor to help with the situation, but they believe it is Walter and do not want her to pursue the matter any further. So Christine takes on the LAPD to find her son. The LAPD do not like her interfering with police business and go against Christine. She is so eager to find her son that she does not want to give up, so she keeps insisting that her son is still missing. The dectective in charge named Jones does not like to be told what to do, so he decides that Christine Collins is a trouble maker! This does not go down well for Christine and so she begins to get trouble from Jones.
Meanwhile, a detective working for the LAPD is on an investigation and goes to a ranch in Wineville, Riverside County to arrange the deportation of a fifteen year old called Sanford Clark to Canada. Sanford Clark then confesses that the man he was staying with, who is his uncle, has murdered some children that he took to the ranch. Sanford tells him some horrible things. He tells the detective the horrible story of how these children were brutally murdered. The story gets more interesting at this point.
Is "The Changeling" a Great Movie to Watch?
This movie has a great storyline. The moving story of Christine Collins' life and how she had to fight for the LAPD to look for her son is heart wrenching. The drama in this movie is gripping and has some tearful moments in it. The movie is mysterious and thrilling to watch. Angelina Jolie's part as Christine Collins was a successful performance in portraying a grief stricken mother looking for her son. I would recommend "The Changeling" to anyone, as it is interesting, moving and dramatic to watch Angelina Jolie play a mother whose son goes missing and does not want to give up finding him, no matter what the consequences are or what happens to her. I felt the sadness from Christine Collins just by watching this movie and that to me makes an interesting movie!
The movie is over two hours long. It is a true life movie with a great story. So, get it on dvd along with some popcorn for a great night in with a friend!
