So what is it with carrots that could help me grow a healthy hair? My extensive research on carrots has revealed that it is rich in B carotene, antioxidant, and other minerals. B carotene is metabolized into Vitamin A, a vitamin essential in order to improve our vision and our skin health. Now that is something carrot is well known for - a vision and skin enhancer. The antioxidant compounds help prevent cardiovascular disease and cancer. I wonder what this has to do with the hair. Little did I know that one of the benefits of vitamin A is that it helps the scalp produce sebum, the natural oil produced by the scalp to prevent hair from drying. Vitamin C and E, both also found in carrots, can help in scalp circulation. Vitamin C allows the nutrients in the bloodstream to be delivered to the hair follicles while Vitamin E increases oxygen in the blood to help fight hair loss and premature graying of the hair. Finally, when carrot is taken in the form of juice, tendency is that it would go directly to the bloodstream which gives us an immediately noticeable effect compared to commercial vitamins and other supplements.
Now this is becoming really interesting. A glass of carrot a day won't harm me anyway. In fact, even if it won't work in my hair, I'm pretty sure it will help me in some other way. also sounds interesting to you?
