What exactly was meant when Athar mentioned in the forums "trash-bag Kevin?"Was he expressing disgust for the fact his twin QB was missing? Is this internal strife targeted against Kevin (he played QB last week) because Da'Ron is trying to stir the Conquest pot again like season II? Who knows, but when I heard Grover say he was so "mad" at that statement, I thought about the possibility that the Bombers may actually try and recruit Kevin now. Imagine Kevin and Dupe on the line blocking for Levon "norma-jean?"
Either way, the Conquest will be back in force this week with their squad so this will be bad news for their opponents. Athar continues to surprise us with his acquisitions. We also have to be wary that "sneaky Mcgrath" may have wickedly abused his moderator priviliges and edited Athar's post in order to make it seem like the hot-blooded Pakistani was demeaning his troops. Maybe we will have D12 provide some answers.
Coach D's attitude
Another issue I want to discuss is Coach D's attitude. Yes, man I know it sucks that Grover left your team hanging, but the man had a responsibility to his own team members as well as the league. Sources told me you were all for Ty joining the Hawks, in the beginning of the season, so your resulting anger baffles a lot of the league and may come off a bit contradictory.
I think your more legitimate argument comes when your quarterback, Andy B was stolen by the Cutters so early, before the start of the season. This move really wrecks a squad because there simply is a lack of seasoned quarterbacks out there.
But props have to go to D for the political game he is playing. By getting angry, one has to see if the emotion is a ploy for hiding an Ace in his pocket. People underestimate D's recruiting prowess. He is capable of bringing players in despite his resounding comments of futility. One of his star players is actually Ignatowski. Not only does this new QB have a fast release-negating most linemen, but he scrambles fast for a tall dude. Watch for him Nova, as the Upper Deckers come back with a vengeance.
I would like to state for the record that D denied any and all league help for rebuilding his team. Additionally, Coach D has a lot of organizational experience and leadership to bring to our organization, but his hot-tempered self often precludes these assets into helping us grow. Its time Novaffl and Coach D form ana lliance to lift the Redskins fanatic from the anguish of petty stone-throwing, and comments such as "F-this and F-yo momma."
Why the Pig-heads continue to get Blown out
The main reason the "pig heads" are getting blown out so bad has a lot to do with the Vietnamese culture and the caring and giving proclivities the Sino-born "Dan Tran, thank you Man" GM possesses. To put it plain and simple, the benevolent Asian, continues to put his weakest players on the starting offense and refuses to cut poor players. In so doing, he dismisses a potential recruiting pool of Craig-list players and Madcap's network.
I'll tell you what, the Pigs Qb can throw and scramble, but when he places the ball in the breadbasket, and a receiver misses it, all you can think of is the "bad news Pigs."
"Harry Krishna" ------- "Harry Krishna" "Harry Krishna" is a good man, and he means well when he isn't harassing passerbys at the airport with religious pamphlets and tamberine rackets and is good with accounting and numbers. But unless you work out in the off weeks, you simply will not get better for the high levels of play demanded by Novaffl. There comes a time in every GM's career, where a team needs to cut their players. I think the league would be better off if WB stepped outside the box for a minute and introduced Krishna to the meetup flag football crew.
The meetup crew is a good ole bunch of people who like to play the game for the sake of playing or the sake of scratching their buttocks. Six or half-dozen the other.
Dan Tran, will not cut his players or search for new ones because he has his sights set on his Rhodes Scholar program in Africa. That is all well and good, but would you like to be in a position telling your grandkids about the trial and tribulations of apartheid, or how you upset one of the greatest teams in Novaffl history-if you were only a bit more strict on who you put on the roster?
Tigercut Joe, like Dan is an old associate of mine and he too, is doing little to get rid of people who won't show up for the Pigs. Remember silence is often acquiescence. Joe's forum soliloquoy, so eagerly remebered in the Novaffl posts and subject lines of "I just want to play" "I just want to play" are quickly transitioning into "Its not how you play the game, its whether you lose by four versus five."
The Steel Rain, what is their strength?
The simple fact of the matter, via Steel Rain is their ability to hold a rush on offensive line. Dudes are pretty stocky, led by a USMC TE, this team can stop a Blitz. So the quarterback can continue to throw side-arm passes from his Johnson, and people still won't sack the QB.
Not to mention, the team has a bunch of receivers who have surprisingly good hands. But more important than this is the fact that the Rain actually has good insight as to where the QB is throwing to. An example of this was seen with 3 INTs gathered on the Ott (Hawks). One has to question, what if the Hawks ran "Eagle" with Rob Lane in the backfield, would the Rain still be able to get under the Hawks umbrella last week?
San Fran the real comeback player
San Fran, the UpperDecker receiver is closing in on almost 9-10 TDs for the season. Although I'd like to say Madcap and Nick are having similar performances, the truth of the matter finds Madcap's success resulting from under-publicized teamates who bring SPARTAN HELL on defense. The focus tends to be too much on the tired Madcap, and leaves the rest of Sparta to outflank opposing squads. Nick continues to simply run over opposing lines, but the Ignatowski "quick-snap" releasers minimizing both linemen's opportunities to make a play.
