A Nasty Storm's Coming by Soon

Darla M. Beck
A nasty storm's coming by soon.

Nowhere left for us to hide,

A day filled with loud thunder.

Scary lightning up in the sky,

Terrified I'm starting to feel.

Yearning to find a safe haven.

Scared the storm may produce,

Tornadoes and damaging winds.

Outside the sky is getting dark,

Reminds me of another time.

Memories invading my mind,

Scaring me more each moment.

Clouds are quickly rolling in,

Ominous the sky has become.

Minutes are slowly ticking by,

I wish the storm would leave.

Nowhere safe for me to go,

Got to hide inside my home.

Before this day is through,

Yelling out in total fear.

Storm is coming up real fast,

Outside the wind is blowing.

Only want to run and hide,

Not feeling too brave right now.
