Raytown, Missouri residents take much pride in keeping their neighborhoods clean and attractive. This year is no exception.

WHAT: Raytown Community Cleanup Day

STARTING POINT LOCATION: Super Splash Parking Lot

ADDRESS: 5330 Raytown Rd, Raytown, MO 64133

WHEN: Saturday, April 30, 2011 from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.

REQUIREMENTS: Proof of residency is required. Tax receipts, driver's license, utility bill are acceptable forms.

ACCEPTABLE ITEMS:

Unwanted junk, trash, debris and furniture

Stoves, washers, refrigerators

Automobile batteries

ELECTRONIC RECYCLING ITEMS:

Printers, faxes, scanners

Computer monitors, mice, CPU's and keyboards

Televisions, VCR's, CD and DVD players, stereos

Cell phones, pagers, handheld games

UNACCEPTABLE ITEMS:

Brush, leaves or any type of yard waste

Hazardous materials such as paint and pesticides

Construction debris

Boats, propane tanks, mounted tires on rims or large truck/tractor tires

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITY:

If you would like to volunteer contact the City Hall at 816-737-6014.

If you are a senior that needs items to be picked up contact the Chamber of Commerce at 816-353-8500.

And if you are a senior unable to bring your items to this event contact Shepherd's Center at 816-356-9000 by April 22 for help.

Imagine how beautiful other communities would be if they took this initiative to heart.

Good for you Raytown. Your pride is showing through.
