Backpacker's Pantry Mocha Mousse Pie

Do you like chocolate? Do you go camping?

Then you might want to get yourself some of the Mocha Mousse Pie from Backpacker's Pantry.

While it's really just chocolate pudding with some pie crust sprinkled over it, when you've been out in the woods for a few days, it seems like it's a little piece of heaven on your plate.

It's really easy to make, all you have to do is add some water, stir it up and then sprinkle the topping over the surface. Over the next few minutes the chocolate mixture will start to set up and soon you'll have your pie ready.

One benefit of this backpacker dessert is the fact that it's so easy and quick to make. You'll spend maybe five minutes preparing this dish before you are ready to start eating. Not only that, but you can make it right in the package, thus saving yourself from having to clean out one more dish.

Out of the many backpacking dessert packages out there, this is one of my favorite. It's easy to make, doesn't take very much time and is quite tasty. The Mocha Mousse Pie tastes like (and basically is) a rich chocolate pudding and the crumbled crust on top is crumbled up pie crust. I've never had a bad batch or had any problems making it, hence I think it's pretty much foolproof. The only problem I could really foresee is if you add too much water, then the mix might not set correctly and you'd have a very runny pie.

I think this stuff will probably last forever before you use it. It's sealed in an airtight package and weighs in at just under four ounces. You can easily serve two people with this dish, three or four if you serve significantly smaller portions. For larger groups I usually just bring two packets and mix them up together to double its size.

There's almost always a package of the Mocha Mousse Pie in my backpack when I am camping. It's a nice treat after I've finished my dinner that is easy to make and tastes really good.
