A Night at the Regal Beagle

A Night Out with the Boys

jimmyjack
The night was still young,
As the holidays drew near.
The children were all screaming,
And I needed a beer.

Where could I venture,
To ease all of my stress?
I needed to go,
Where the cold ones taste best.

A call from the boys,
And I flew like an eagle.
We were going to meet
at the famed Regal Beagle!

You know the place,
that's just down the stairs,
Where we all lose our worries,
and shrug-off our cares.

The cover is free,
And the food's not too bad,
The entertainment system is there,
That we all wish we had.

The faces are friendly.
They offer a warm smile.
And the memories we share,
Are all worth the while.

Mr. Furley is there,
In his regular place.
The anchorman too,
You all know his face.

The governor himself,
Even makes an appearance.
Jimmy-Jack the Tripper,
Just there on clearance.

A pass from the boss,
Giving her some time,
To do things she needs,
Without losing her mind.

The doctor was in,
Sharing his stories,
Of trips to the Amazon,
And days of the glory.

The Kid also there,
Partaking of brew,
And sharing the stories,
About days we once knew.

We did miss the presence,
Of our old friend Larry.
The CEO and Rollo,
But they're also married.

Times they have changed,
Since the days back in college,
Now we have families,
And jobs for our knowledge.

The reasons to convene,
They seem far and few,
But when those dates come,
We all know what to do.

Be on good behavior,
And smile to the misses,
Do all of our chores,
And give the kids kisses.

Then head to the bar,
That place we all know,
It's just down the stairs,
Not too far to go.

Lose all your cares,
And forget all your worry,
The time seems to fly,
So what is the hurry?

Pull up a stool,
And grab a cold glass,
If you're not careful,
You'll be drunk off your ass.
