A Night at Rod's

A Collection of Poems Inspired by Rod's

AC FITNESS BOY
This one was inspired by Janice Friedman, a pianist and her band that played there.

An Evening of Song

A succulent dish

And sublime sounds

A master at his craft

A mistress of soul

If everything were different

Then it wouldn't be the same

I could be thinking of you

Instead of enjoying myself

Having and Wanting

Is all there ever was

But you may wish it otherwise

But even the music wants something

Poetry in Motion

The dance, the beat

Two loves combine

The dream the sound

Of Jazz man, yeah

Beauty is what you make of it

You can either grow

Or leave

But don't rain on me

Growing

Too old to care about

Staying young at heart.

Love comes, love goes

Where it shines,

Is a mystery

No one really loves me I guess.

Too old too care

I'm alone and humbled by GOd

The wisdom of a rhyme.

The poetry of life.

Trying to make sense of life.

What does it mean?

This was written about the table service at Rod's

The Stage is Set

The rose in the glass

The fine bottles of wine

Draperies colored gold.

And Fine linens and silks

If decadenc is a sin

Then I am a sinner.

Man doesn't live on bread alone.

But on good meat and excellent wine

And succulent pastries.

Each one melts in your mouth.

An explosion of flavor

But it is cold comfort if

You lose your soul
