A Note in a Bottle, a Poem

A Poem About Being Stranded on a Desert Island

A Note in a Bottle

Alone I sailed into the sea
a stronger boat there could not be
but then a gale from no where came
the main mast fell down and hit the frame
The bow engulfed with pounding seas
the winds cried out like wild banshees.

I lost and fought with all my might
as my brave ship it lost its fight
and somehow in that roaring storm
I was swept onto this island warm
where now I sit here all alone
on dessert land where I was blown.

So in a bottle I put a note
hoping somehow that it will float
across the sea and with the wind
with a note I've carefully pinned
To summon help and set me free
from beneath coconut palm trees

Although its juice is sweet and good
its meat supplies me with my food
There is no one with which to talk
so all I do is sit or walk
or watch the sea as it does foam
I want to return to my home

So if you get this message please
save me from these roaring seas
and take me on back , to those I love
back to the world I'm thinking of
Go little bottle speed away
bringing me home without delay

There's no place like home, and I realize that every time I come back. Wonderful poem.

Way cool!!! In our cold, being stuck on an island in the tropics sounds pretty good about now LOL
