A Pane Lay 'tween

Sides

bw Frampton
The night breeze is calling...
she wants it back...
I should be on the other side

The new dew is falling...
the dawn has cracked...
I should be on the other side -
- I should be on the other side...
Her side

The storm is approaching.
The thunder claps!
She should be on the other side

Two spirits encroaching...
Worlds hold aback
She should be on the other side -
- she should be on the other side...
My side

Death had us parted
yet, drawn us close
Each yearns on another side

A mutual question -
Who did death claim?
Each asks on the other side...
Each asks on the other side -
Inside
