A Parting Kiss
Mellifluous sounds.
Her voice. Sweet.
She calls to me.
To say good bye.
A parting.
Her lips.
Pause. Lightly.
To receive my kiss.
I hold her there.
In time.
Stopping. Beating.
Of two hearts
As one.
We move. Fill.
The other
Quiet spaces.
Ponderous words
Swallowed.
Before they hit their mark.
Fingers, reaching. Touching.
Eyes, green.
Seeing the unseen.
Between us.
Her lips part. Lightly.
To receive my kiss.
