When I married my first husband and had children, I published my first two books. My books were selling very well even though I made some costly mistakes with self-publishing my first two books. But I have learned from those mistakes and I believe my past experiences have made me become a better and more seasoned writer.
In 2003, I went through a bitter sweet divorce. I found myself becoming a single parent with two kids to raise on my own. I had to put my dreams of writing books and novels aside and focused on raising my children.
In 2006, I decided to walk out on faith and give writing a try again. I was given a vision to launch my magazine. My magazine is what lead me to my soul mate, Travis Ware. Travis was screenplay writer and I have known him since fourth grade. Our love for writing is what brought us together. Our passion for arts and entertainment and a long lasting friendship is what made our relationship magical; a connection brewed between us.
I still did not think about going back into writing books until a friend of mine, Tosh, inspired me to go back and pursue my writing career. Even my daughter (Autumn) and son (Austin) asked me why I had stopped writing novels. I really did not have a reason. I guess I always put everyone's dreams ahead of mine.
In 2007, I married Travis and I gave birth to our son Justin. I almost died giving birth to Justin and Justin almost died too. I suffered a ruptured uterus and my son suffered from lack of oxygen to the brain. I had to resign from my job in order to take care of my son. Even though this was a very trying period for me and my family, we still made it.
My near death experience made me realize how precious life is and how important it is to live you life to the fullest. I had an opportunity to do some soul searching and when I did, spirit told me it was time. It was time for me to go back to pursuing my dreams of writing. And now I am finally making my dreams come true through books. This is my story as to what has inspired me to follow my passion in life.
