A Pear Shaped Woman's Guide to Finding the Right Jeans

I personally think that the pear shape is the most flattering body shape to have after the hourglass. However as there is sure to be two sides of a coin, a heavy bottom could also mean extra work has to be taken to balance out one's silhouette in order to bring out the best in the pear shaped woman.

For the very basic start, choose jeans in dark colors. This is a fundamental rule that heavy bottom women should remember, not just in choosing jeans but when choosing all bottoms for their wardrobe. Dark colors slims, light colors emphasize on the wideness of hips. One will want to slim down their bottom half visually so that it does not act as a glaring contrast to their slim upper body.

Avoid at all cost, embellishments on the back pockets of the jeans. It only serves to attract attention to the problem area. Tiny pockets also accentuate the problem area, as it will act as a contrast to the wideness of the hip. Any form of whiskering in the front of the jeans should also be avoided for the same reason.

The boot cut jeans is a pear shaped woman's best friend as the slightly wider bottom will proportion out the figure. To further elongate the bottom half, choose jeans that has brought side seams forward. Alternatively, one can choose to go for jeans that have a front seam that runs down the center of the jeans to create a stunning, elongating effect.

A common problem pear shaped women might face when buying jeans is to find a pair of jeans that fits well on the hips but loose around the waist. With the high waist jeans coming back in fashion in full vengeance, this might pose as a problem for those who are adventurous to ditch their low rise jeans solution in favor of fashion. A personal recommendation is to look for the high waist jeans by 18th Amendment, designer jeans from Australia, also the current favourites of likes of Kate Moss and Mischa Barton I found my own salvation in them.

Last my not least, if you are adamant about further elongating your silhouette, ditch the flats for a pair of 3 inch heels and strut tall in them!
