The Balance of Two
You keep my feet firmly planted on the ground
While at the same time, lift me to heights previously unknown
Our separation brings such an ache to my heart
But at once is overcome with the love you give
We share tears of sorrow and tears of joy
Then laugh until our sides throb
Together, in our quiet moments, we contemplate our future
Then openly converse of our dreams and our fears
Sometimes our anger creates a chill
That nothing but our passion could warm
You help define who I am
Without suffocating my independence
In you, I see the best I can be
And how far I have come from being my worst
In other words, you are my inspiration
For living, loving, being
A perfect balance -
