A Perfect Little Picnic Place

What comes to mind when you think of an enjoyable outdoor excursion that involves food and drink? If you guessed picnic, you are right on track. Picnics are fun and simple and individuals can pack a small basket of non-heated eats and enjoy the outdoors on an unsophisticated sheet or blanket. Then again, some people go all out and partake of their picnic with grills, tables, and all the works. Picnics are especially popular in the spring and summer seasons, but can be enjoyed all year long under the right conditions and in the right places. In fact, the right setting can truly make your picnic the perfect occasion to have the benefit of the great outdoors.

If you are looking for an inexpensive outing in a safe environment with beautiful surroundings, then you should make an effort to visit the local Carl Miller Park in Newnan, Georgia. Carl Miller Park is the perfect location for a wonderful picnic in spring, summer, or fall. The park is centrally located within Coweta County Georgia and is supported by the local Newnan Utilities Company. This fourteen acre park features picnic tables, pavilions that can be reserved for groups as large as 150 people, a walking or jogging path, and fountains for children to play. The facility also has plenty of open areas for exercise, clean restrooms, and water fountains for a quick sip of water. The area has a limited number of grills throughout the property for those you chose to grill during their picnic. One of the other great aspects of this picnic area park is the Kids' Castle Park. This child oriented sector has a 32,000 square foot playground featuring wooden climbing areas, swings, bridges, tunnels, forts, playhouses, cars, boats, trucks, and airplanes all for child enjoyable. The playground also has xylophones and wooden drums for the musically inclined. It is a wonderful place to burn off a few calories after enjoying the foods associated with your picnic.

If you would like to visit the Carl Miller Park for a fantastic picnic. The hours are daily 8:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. from April until October. From November until March the hours change daily from 8:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m. The park rules are very basic for this local picnic area. There is no use of roller skates/blades, skateboards, shoe skates or bicycles on any of the walking or service drive areas. No alcoholic beverages are allowed. Loud music is not tolerated. Visitors may not utilize personal or disposable cooking grills. Grilling is allowed on the park grills and visitors must provide their own fire materials and grill utensils. No glass bottles or pets are allowed in the park and picnic tables should not be moved from the shelters or pavilions. Most importantly, the park requires that all visitors leave the park clean for others and place all refuse in the garbage containers provided throughout the picnic area.
