I want to trace you with my words.
Hair wild with morning, whispering brown, a crown of bramble
Eyes sharp, knowing, a tempestuous sea
Skin that remembers a summer past, tinted cream
glimpse of ink on a bare shoulder, arms draped over my guitar
fingers move so sure, over strings so often played.
You strum lazily without effort, but sing so soft I barely hear.
Knees bare, toes exposed, jeans soft and worn
I want to unwrap you.
Rays of light and shadow paint ribbons on your face
The world outside struggling to come in.
You and me on a somnolent Saturday morning
