Just a picture from the past--
A distant memory.
I wonder where you are now.
Whether near or far--I know not.
You took your love from me.
You gave it to another.
I never dreamed it would be my own brother.
Now you are gone.
Now I am torn--
Should I be lonely and blue
Or happy that I am rid of you?
You're just a picture from the past--
Only a distant memory.
One that gets weaker and dimmer each and every day.

Post a CommentThanks so much Barbara Lee for the very nice comment on A Picture From the Past. I love sad poems, but my sad ones usually aren't based on anything from my own life. I am for the most part a happy go lucky person with very few cares, and least of all having an untrue wife. I would trust her with my very life.
Thanks again.

Nice poem, Johnny. This line "I never dreamed it would be my own brother" gives the poem even more impact!
Thanks Kathryn!
