A Place to Call Home

Catdog
The place of no return for all eternity~

Is the place I call home ~ my destiny?

The city lights ~ they still say ~ where I did shine~

Glitter and glamour ~ suited me just fine.

The public's eye which I did so embrace~

Bringing a smile to each passing face.

Open my mouth as to speak ~ they stopped and listened~

Alive a twinkle in my eyes ~ sparkled and glistened.

To all good things ~ there must come an end~

That's the news I share tonight my dear friend.

My return to the limelight I have sworn six months long~

Is the place I once called home never to be so wrong.

For whatever reason ~ this hell I cannot escape

No longer have I the will to outrun my fate~

The next big thing the stars have in store for me~

Might just be the future's map to set me free.

To each new day that I must awaken to face~

Is an opportunity I shall not pass by ~ waste

The memories of the city I lit ~ of the path I led

Must now light the path from within me instead

It is time for the stars to follow me this time~

A survivor I will always be ~ Success is mine~

This is but a small tale of the past 6 mos. or so as to my uprooting Memphis to return to Arkansas to care for my father who passed on Labor Day and my everyday struggles as to where my future will lead me next.
