Once there was a place,
a place we all knew.
Where dream's were born,
and problems were few.
Where sky's were bright,
and day's sparkled anew,
we loved mom and dad,
just to name a few.
The sun never brighter,
the smiles never end,
there was always something,
there was always a friend.
But those days are over,
good things always end,
grown up we are now,
that child is no more.
Once there was a place,
we now long for.
a place we all knew.
Where dream's were born,
and problems were few.
Where sky's were bright,
and day's sparkled anew,
we loved mom and dad,
just to name a few.
The sun never brighter,
the smiles never end,
there was always something,
there was always a friend.
But those days are over,
good things always end,
grown up we are now,
that child is no more.
Once there was a place,
we now long for.

"Once there was a place, we now long for". Beautiful and sort of sad...ahh, memories. Thanks.
Great meter; great poem.
Ahhhhhhhhhhhh, I hope you find your inner child, he's still there, I promise.
Ah how we long for the carefree days! Sometimes. There is so much more that life offers now. We might have to work for it, but it's worth it! nice poem!
Wow, this reminds me of my own poem here : "What I once knew". I wonder if late summer brings back this sense of childhood's ending? Well done. Glad to hear from you again!
You ended this poem really well.
Nostalgic, thanks!
