A Player's Guide for Pet Society

Pet Society is a very popular application on Facebook, and is now available on MySpace as well. The goal of Pet Society is to care for your pet and interact with other pets, earning Paw Points and Coin. Paw Points allow you to advance in levels and with Coins you can buy clothing, food and home furnishings to keep your pet happy and healthy. Pet Society isn't difficult to play, but the following guide will help you get off to a quick start by explaining how to get around the town and some basic care of your pet.

Pet Society Guide - Getting Started

Your first task in Pet Society will be creating your pet. You choose whether to make your pet male or female, and then type in a name for your pet. Next, choose the color of your pet's fur, and then go down the chart on the right and choose from a variety of styles for its ears, eyes, nose, mouth and head shape. Once you're satisfied with your pet's appearance, click OK and you'll be ready to play the Pet Society video game!

Pet Society Guide - Moving around the Pet Society Town

After you finish creating your pet, you'll be taken to your pet's home. Up in the top corner, you'll see a small graphic of a house - this is a 'map' of your pet's home. Click on it to transport your pet around his home. To visit the rest of the town, click on your pet's front door and you'll be moved out into the city. Using your mouse, move your pet around the streets of the town and click on a building to enter it. Alternately, if you look at the bottom of the playing window, you'll see a globe shaped icon which you can click on to take a short cut directly to any location. Clicking on the house icon will take you back to your home from any other location.

Pet Society Guide - Staying Healthy, Happy and Clean

Now that you've learned to move around in the Pet Society video game, we'll move on to pet care. Inside your home, you'll see three status bars on the right - one each for hunger, happiness and cleanliness. If your pet gets hungry, buy food for it in the Food Store. Items you buy are stored in your trunk, which you open by clicking on the icon at the bottom of the playing window. Choose a food item and drag it to your pet, and your pet will eat it. Your pet will only eat items that you hand to him or put on the ground. There are other items in your trunk that will help with your pet - playing catch with the ball or flying disk will increase your pet's happiness. Using the bar of soap to wash your pet will keep it clean. Brushing your pet or petting it will also increase happiness.

Pet Society Guide - What Else Can I Do?

The above information is enough to get you started, but there is a lot more you can do with your pet in Pet Society. Go to the pond and catch fish to put in your aquarium. Start a garden, and grow fruits, vegetables or flowers - gardening is a great way to earn extra money. Go to the stadium and compete in races to earn more Paw Points and Coins.
