A Poem for Black History Month

Maryann K.
I don't know that you are black,
You don't know that I am white.
I do know we go way back,
And we never had a fight.

We went to the same school.
We'd play each day 'til dark.
Lived by the golden rule,
Have fun then leave the park.

We learned to respect and obey,
Our parents taught us right from wrong.
Whatever your color, it's OK,
I know we'll always get along.
