As summer wanes
the glory of autumn announces itself
in brilliant shades
of oranges, reds, and golds
beckoning all to gaze upon its beauty
while the cooler temperatures offer comfort
from the blazing heat of summer
bringing the opportunity
for long walks through the majestic trees
where you can breathe deeply
of the inviting earthly scent
and enjoy the sound
of crunching beneath your feet
till you find the perfect place
to stand absolutely still
and watch the leaves gently descend
to the forest floor
in silent celebration of the season
the glory of autumn announces itself
in brilliant shades
of oranges, reds, and golds
beckoning all to gaze upon its beauty
while the cooler temperatures offer comfort
from the blazing heat of summer
bringing the opportunity
for long walks through the majestic trees
where you can breathe deeply
of the inviting earthly scent
and enjoy the sound
of crunching beneath your feet
till you find the perfect place
to stand absolutely still
and watch the leaves gently descend
to the forest floor
in silent celebration of the season
