A Poem in the Key of Jazz

Music on My Mind

She sways me in her gentle embrace and I sail above
the haze of the troubled city.

The music is on my mind.
Jobim said it right a Samba. With a sexy beat. And the crescendo of the castanets.

The throaty melody of a Jazzy lady like ELLA.
The music carries me in its tight embrace and I am
swept away not thinking of my troubles.

As the record spins....
I don't think...Idon't feel...I just drift and
ride the ebb and the flow of the pretty ,pretty
jazz music.

Until
the
record
stops
and reality comes crashing
back into my consciousness
again....the music is on my mind.
