enjoying the coffee with
my new senior friends --
Attentive? Well, no.
The tour guide kept talking and
she rambled a bit.
I didn't look down
at the front of my blouse - no
reason to worry
that something was wrong.
It was warm in the building
so off went my coat -
I saw it at once,
brown coffee stains on my white
cotton blouse. Oh, no!
The lid on my cup
was ill-fitting and loose. So,
surprise! Drip, drip, drip!!
No worries, my dear
my new friends reassured me;
we are prepared - see?
Out came a Tide pen,
from another a Shout sheet,
Dab, wipe, dab again-
And presto! The brown
stains were yielding; my friends saw
to that, they were smart
senior travelers,
survival well learned. Prepared --
and willing to share.
Now I travel with
Tide pens, a Shout sheet or two --
that's what friends are for!
