A Poem, Somewhere

Does Time Heal Everything, What About You Memories?

robritt
Time heals all I've heard it said,
but what of the memories there in your head?
Do you cease to love or cease to care,
for those special moments that we did share?

Is it really forgotten and far behind,
or ever present on the edge of your mind?
I know not how those spoken of, here,
besides myself pretend to care.

I'll never know, as it can not be,
locked inside the very heart of me.
Perhaps their right and it's only me,
that cherishes those precious memories,

Of a soft warm bear holding me tight,
through the all to short and precious night
Of a smile so shining, happy and free,
it radiated into the soul and heart of me.

Of eyes that spoke what words could not say,
on that long ago, unforgotten day.
Of arms so strong and firm and fine,
a time ago, that once was mine.

Gone he may be, from my side,
and the world is great and is so wide.
I'll probably never see again,
that summer sun and gentle wind,

Nor the man, tenderly held against my heart,
who may be gone, but won't depart.
It matters so little, you see,
for my love will go on, to eternity.

Within my heart, inside my soul,
my mind relives the same old role.
And I lost this round of life it seems,
but there is still time for impossible dreams.

I'll love forever that friend and man,
although I can not touch his hand;
Nor see his face up close to me,
where I so longingly, wish it could be.

In the land of palm tree, soft summer breezes,
intermingled with all the memories
We loved , we lost and we may love again,
but we somehow survive when we lose a friend.

Summers have come and summer will go,
and my hair is now flaked with snow.
But to my heart, you do adhere,
and I say a solemn, silent prayer,

That some where, somehow, someday,
there will be a time, a place a way.
Where my memories and I,
will renew that oh so binding tie.

Astonishing and whimsical. Beautiful. Inspiration and Meditation just fell upon me. Thanks for all that you just exposed my mind to. I needed that awakening tonight. The thoughts of my mother and I.
