A Poetic Christmas

Harold Dean Sink
Children and adults who are child like in some ways

Usually want snow on all of the Christmas Days.

Then there are those who want a blue Christmas.

It could be depression

Or maybe decorations.

There are even others who would like to see it hot.

This is not what Christmas is...not, not, not.

No matter which color or temperature you like,

This coming Christmas day will have lots of lights.

Children will write their lists for Santa to fill.

There may be some electronics for father Bill.

Mothers hope to not get kitchen things.

They would rather have jewelry such as rings.

Fathers do like fishing stuff, too.

Ties and handkerchiefs will not do.

Sisters can be tricky to please.

Listening to them you will know how to appease.

Brothers are different as you may find.

Gifts may be much easier to find.

Christmas time is not good to be alone.

Surely someone will welcome them into their home.

Families and friends ought to help one another,

As if each one is that special brother.

Decorating homes for Christmas inside and out

Can be much fun especially with some clout.

Caroling around your neighborhood

Would really do it much good.

Anonymous Christmas greeting cards are a great way to say,
"Have a very merry Christmas this coming Christmas Day."

I don't write as much as I used to, but I do find it as a way to put my thoughts on paper or on the computer.  View profile

Beautiful. Christmas will be quite different this year. Two people in my family are facing layoffs and another was just laid off. But, it reminds that Christmas isn't about gifts it's about coming together and helping one another. More importantly, there is truly only one reason for the season and all too often people forget that.
