A Poet's Heartache

Lisa R. Strong
Your tender heart is breaking;
Loneliness has taken a hold;
Bitter words turn into bitter tears;
Your soul is screaming, "Why?"
How could something so wonderful;
Be suddenly transformed into so much pain;
Hairline cracks form in your armor;
And an arrow pierces through;
Turmoil is bottled up inside;
Like a carbonated beverage shaken;
The hurt wants to come out;
But you need to twist the cap slowly;
When you grab a notebook and a pen;
Then it can flow freely from you;
The agony is purged momentarily;
The words come out as fast as a river's flow;
You have created an abstract painting;
That brings joy and admiration;
For in your eloquent expression,
Your pain has been transformed;
And it becomes something beautiful;
To bring happiness to others
