Finding out that you have breast cancer can be devastating. You might even believe that your life is over; however, you may still have a lot of life to live yet. It takes energy to fight cancer, and stressing over things you have no control over will take energy away from your recovery process. .

Having a positive attitude is very important for recovery from any of life's situations. Having a positive attitude means that you stay grounded in reality while looking for the bright side of whatever situation you happen to be in. When you are recovering from a disease like breast cancer, it is important to see yourself as an overcomer rather than a victim.

No one can tell you how you should feel, especially when you are battling a disease like breast cancer. You decide how to react to everyone and every situation in your life. There is no written or unwritten rule that requires you to give your power to anyone else; however, "cleaning house" in your thought processes can make the path to recovery a little easier.

There may be sometimes that you lash out to your family, just because they are your loved ones and will understand your pain and frustrations. Dealing with breast cancer is a monumental task. Don't waste time feeling bad about the people you have snapped at along the way. Stressing about how you relate with the people in your life will just cause a negative outlook to take a stronger hold over your life. If you live in the Atlanta area, you may want to join a support group designed for women who are dealing with breast cancer.
