A Prayer Said in the Eye of the Storm

Shirley A Mandel
We are having
another big storm now,
Lord..
And everyone knows
that something is up with
nature,
even the atheists.
Big storms ravage
backslidden America,;
there are historic earthquakes
worldwide;
and distress of nations
everywhere.
And even here in strong America
we are in political and fiscal turmoil.

Are these really the
last days?
Can Jesus come in my time?
I don.t know,
but these are super evil days
on par with the last days
of the Roman Empire.
Our freedom has turned into
license
where anything goes.
And all other nations
are following us
down the path of utter
destruction
through greed, drug abuse and sexual immorality.
And we can't even imagine
what is really going on
behind the Islamic veil.
They want
what we've got too.
America is the
great leader nation,
but what are we leading them to now?

God help me to be faithful
in these evil days.
Don't let me be distracted by
greed and materialism
or even my art.
Don"t let me go
the way of the
lukewarm Laocidian church.
Don"t let the "cares of this world
choke out the Word."Lord.

Well,
the power is out now'
But before I call
the electric company
or even check my phone,
I think I'll sit
in the quiet of this old, log home
and let you fill me with the
Holy Spirit.

Amen

.

I love how you decided to enjoy the quiet at the end. Sometimes it takes a power failure to remind us to slow down and be still for a moment. God can't talk to us if we never take the time to listen. :)

Beautiful, Shirley. I thank God for keeping you safe. God bless America -- He will heal our land for the sake of His people who are called by His name who repent and seek Him -- 1 Chron 7:14 I think. Yet even so, Lord Jesus, come!

What words of pleading and surrender, Shirley! Surely, the Lord will be stirred to act for the good of mankind. Good sense will prevail in the end. Praise the Lord that you escaped the tornado without a scratch but with more faith! - siva
