A Preview of the 2010 Ford Mustang

Book Flame
The hype over the new 2010 Ford Mustang is here. The expectations are high from consumers especially Mustang fans. But the questions remains can Ford deliver? In case you haven't heard not much has been going right for Ford, the company's sales have been going down the drain. Even after the redesign of the 2005 Ford Mustang, which had Mustang lovers lining up to buy the car, the sales for the 2005 Ford Mustang slowed down in 2006 and continued spiraling downwards in 2007, along with all the other car models Ford produces. The company has faced such hardship that they have had to slash payrolls and had to close down some of their factories.

Which is why the 2010 Ford Mustang is very important to the Ford Empire. But once again they will be challenged by competitors the Dodge Challenger, which is already up for sale, and the Chevrolet Camaro which will also be released around the same time as the 2010 Ford Mustang. Now many of us who are able to afford these cars will do comparisons between the three before we buy, so hopefully Ford delivers and as consumers we are patient enough to wait until all three hit the market, before making our final decision.

As far as what the 2010 Mustang looks like...we can only guess. But from what we hear around the grapevine, don't expect a full redesign of the Mustang until 2010 or 2013. The Ford empire just has no money to do it any sooner. Rumor also has it that the 2010 Mustang will have a new 5.7-liter "Boss" V8. There will be a different sheet metal ahead of the windshield and out back. There will be tweaks to the frame and the wheels of the 2010 Mustang along with interior upgrades.

Now back to the rumored "Boss" engine. Lets be real in order for the new 2010 mustang to Come with its two rivals the Chevrolet Camaro and Dodge Challenger it is a must for it to have the V8. In case you haven't heard the Camaro comes with the 6.0-liter Corvette which makes it out to be at least 400 horsepower and then of course there is the Challenger which is also very promising with 425 horsepower from 6.1-liter Hemi V8. Regardless of what type of engine Ford decides to go with, more then likely the 2010 Ford mustang will have a six speed automatic transmission, and the chassis work on the car will be minor which means we should expect more and better upgrades in the interior of the car. Sales for the 2010 Ford Mustang is predicted to hit the market early 2009.
