A Preview of Halo Wars: Game Set for 2008 Release

With Halo 3 just under way, there is one more Halo game that gamers will talk about: Halo Wars. Halo Wars puts you 20 years before the first Halo game in a war agains the covenant. As you may know, the convenant is the "race" that Halo is fighting against. In this game, based on what I know, will be based upon the origisn set forth in this series of events.

But don't let the game surprise you, because it won't have its traditional first-person shooter. The producers are working with Real-Time Strategy that can get the simulation and startegy within the game. So, instead of just shooting at your enemies, you'll have to strategically look for ways to destroy your enemy. Come up with many moves, upgrades, weapons, etc that any simulation game may have. But Real-Time Strategy games don't work well within the Xbox 360. The only reason this is because it's difficult to input certain functions in the game that can run smooth. So, instead of having many different functions and uses, you'll only have to use the main four buttons in the Xbox 360. And this makes it easier which function to know so you can input(press) the action. It will be just like your ordinary simulation strategy games in the PC.

Another noticeable game feature will be another character. Instead of having Cortana on your side, you'll have another character advising you what to do. Her name will be "Serina." It is believed that this character will narrate the game, objects and missions for you to start. It is also believed that she will assist you in battles and help you out on certain situations. It's not known whether you'll be able to play her, but she will be an important factor in the game.

One difference you'll also notice in the game is the units you'll be able to control. You'll actually recognize some characters in previous Halo games, but this time you get to command them. Not just your units but as well as your vehicles and all of them will be making an appearance in the game. You will be using different strategic tactics in order to take down your enemies and some will have their own functions and uses. Also, upgrades will play an importatnt role to discover new weapons, units, vehicles and defenses. And with new discovery means new uses for your enemies. The resources and upgrades are also a new feature in the game that allows you take advantage of your foes.

So far, Halo Wars will be a 2008 release. It will be a new way of playing Halo than never before. And with the new style and gameplay, Halo Wars looks intriguing. But there is still more time to learn what other new features it may have or upgrades. We won't know the full conclusion until the game is officially out.
