A Product Review of Not Your Daughter's Jeans for the Mature Woman

I alter clothing for a boutique in Steubenville, Ohio, called Anna Kay's.

They carry Not Your Daughter's Jeans (NYDJ).

They are the most popular items in the store. Every pair gets sold for retail. They never go on clearance.

They don't have to. Everyone who wears them loves them.

Features

NYDJ jeans have "Lift Tuck technology that will make you look a full size smaller."

The inside front is lined with stretchy broadcloth which is crisscrossed with stitching to hold in a potbelly, smoothing out the shape.

The denim is cotton with spandex which controls the shape. Hips, thighs and stomach are drawn in comfortably.

NYDJ jeans 'defy gravity.'

Style

Many of the styles have Swarovski Hot Fix crystals running down the outseam. This seems to be the most popular style locally.

Others are plain, typical of other store-bought jeans, like Levi's.

Sizing

The legs seem to run a little long, which is great if you are tall, but can be a disadvantage if you are petite.

Misses are tall, and Petites are a little long.

Doreen of Anna Kay's says the customers love the jeans. For some, it's all they wear. Personally, she is quite pleased with the fit, since she has long legs and needs a tummy tuck and fanny shaper herself.

Anna Kay's carries the jeans in sizes 2 to 18 in both Misses and Petite in blue denim, chocolate brown, black, gray, and khaki.

Their plain jeans are $99.00 and their embellished jeans run up to $129.00. According to Doreen, they undercut Nordstrom's prices.

One advantage of shopping at Anna Kay's is the jeans can be hemmed for free if they are purchased at full retail.
