A Product Review: Prolab's Thermo Fire

Does This Weight-Loss Supplement Really Work?

D. Ilean
While embarking on (yes, another) battle against my own weight, I was gifted a bottle of Prolab's Thermo Fire. I usually don't use weight loss supplements, because they basically say the same thing: use this with diet and exercise to lose weight. Well, if you're watching your diet and exercising, you will lose weight anyway! Nevertheless, I decided to give it a try. And, I'm kind of glad. Why? Well, read on!

Prolab's Thermo Fire Promise:

According to the label, this little bottle of pills increases your inner body temperature. It turns your body into a calorie burning furnace! It uses a lot of weird chemical-sounding ingredients to go about this: things like Raspberry Ketones and Citrus Aurantium (note: growing auarantium claws is not a possible side effect). Also included: Green Tea Extract, Caffeine and Vitamin B6. Of course, like the vast majority of weight-loss supplements, Thermo Fire adds a small disclaimer. These statements have not been evaluated by the FDA. No surprises here!

Prolab's Thermo Fire Performance:

So I decided to try out these pills. There was an immediate downside. The pills are large and clunky, which can make them hard to swallow. I'm particularly squeamish about swallowing big pills, so if you're like me, that's going to be a problem. One way to get around this, however, is to open the pills and pour their substance into a drink. I added mine to a glass of water, and it didn't taste good, but it went down.

As expected, I didn't detect a huge difference. My body temperature didn't suddenly skyrocket (which, in retrospect, is probably a good thing). The pounds didn't melt away. However, I did notice a benefit: I had a bit more energy. I suspect this is probably due to the caffeine content, but considering that I don't like coffee (and Thermo Fire is a lot less expensive than a daily energy drink) it was a good way to get a boost.

Overall Evaluation of Prolab's Thermo Fire:

As with many weight-loss supplements, Thermo Fire sort of promises the world. Or at least a skinnier you. It won't deliver that. You're better off hitting the gym and building muscles - more muscle means more calories burned. But, it isn't so bad as a substitute for energy supplements. Just make sure you know what you're getting when you buy it, and - as with all products - don't over do it and proceed slowly, with caution.
