On July 13, 2008, my 12 year old grandson and his baseball team, The Redland Heat, won first place in the Clackamas County (Oregon) Junior American Baseball championship.
My son and I watched as his son, Jalen, pitched the final inning to bring his team to victory.
It was a moment of deja vu for me (and, I'm sure for my son too) because 30-some years ago I watched him play baseball in the same tournament.
Next weekend my grandson's team will play in the State Tournament. Here's a haiku written by a very proud grandma to her grandson, Jalen.

HIS SON PITCH TO VICTORY

Theory on Deja VuIs the mind just playing a trick when Deja Vu is experienced, or does it hold some secret memories deep within? One possible theory is discussed in this article.

Congrats to your grandson! Thanks for sharing this. :-)
Very nice story. It must have been a very touching moment.
Very interesting and thought- provoking.
Yes, there's nothing like a grandmother's pride in her grandchildren. I thought I was a 'nut' over my own two children, but these four wonderful grandchildren they've given me (2 each) are so close to my heart I don't know how I ever got along without them! Each one is so special in his or her own way. Thanks for the nice comments.
Oh, we grandmas do get excited, don't we?
My 18 year old grandson, that I've raised since he was 11, just joined the Tennessee National Guard. I'm so proud of him!!
I cried at his high school graduation, too.
very cute and congrats!!!
Congrats to your grandson and his team.
