A Proverb to Read

Harold Dean Sink
She sits and reads,
And contemplates
Over the book
To which she meditates.

The words are simple,
The context is good,
She reads it over
As she should.

Her thoughts race
Through her head
As to what she reads,
And what is said.

"A wife of noble character who can find?
She is worth far more than rubies.
Her husband has full confidence in her,
and lacks nothing of value.
She brings him good, not harm,
All the days of her life."

And on she reads
Through Proverbs 31,
All the way
Until she is done.

She looks up at me,
And understands
Why I am this way
In being a man.

I don't write as much as I used to, but I do find it as a way to put my thoughts on paper or on the computer.  View profile
