A Quick and Easy Treatment for Sunburn

Buck Pettry
With record heat covering much of the country over exposure to the sun is a problem. Sunburns can result from this exposure. As we all know, sunburns can be a very uncomfortable condition to deal with. The pain and discomfort of sunburn can be treated easily and for not much cost by using this method to treat them.

The ingredients are simple, and you may even have everything you need right now. You will need:

A wash clothe or soft clean rag. Use one that you will not mind if it becomes stained.

A pitcher or some other container for water. It is best to use something that has a larger opening so you can reach into it rather than pour from it.

Water

Three tea bags of black tea. Earl grey tea is highly effective and readily available.

Now that we have the ingredients gathered together begin by filling the pitcher with warm water. Place the tea bags into the water and allow them to seep. Allow the water to turn black from the tea. This can take two or more hours. The blacker the tea the better and more effective it is. If you are in a rush, you can place the tea bags into a saucepan, add water, and heat on the stove to speed up the seeping process. You then will need to wait until the tea cools to room tempreture, or you can add luke warm water to the mixture to bring down the temperature. But do not add water to the point that it dilutes the tea. You still want it as black as you can.

Once the tea has cooled, you are ready. You may want to remove any clothing that can become stained from the tea. Then take the soft cloth and dip it into the tea. Dab the cloth onto the sunburn but do not wipe it into the burn, or wipe off the tea. Allow it to naturally soak into your sink and dry. Apply the tea mixture two or three times. Allow it to soak into your skin and dry naturally each time you apply it. It is best to do this before bedtime and allow the tea to remain on your skin overnight. In the morning, you can shower.

You will notice a dramatic improvement to your sunburn with this simple and easy treatment. The sooner this is applied to sunburn, the more effective it is.
