Had to add another comment - some of us also did without air conditioning in 1959 - a fact that my children find incredulous.
Had to read this one as it was the year I was born! Another fact - Waylon Jennings flipped with Richie Valens to see who would get the final seat on that plane. Waylon lost - or won, depending on how you look at it now.
I copied this one: 'On October 2, 1959 CBS first televised Rod Serling's show, "The Twilight Zone." to send to my son who was born in 1965 and loves the Twilight Zone! Thanks!
Thanks for the recap of a much simpler time.
Another year I remember well.
Returning comments . . . I'm WAAAAY behind. One of these days, I'll be caught up . . . for now, reading and PV love!
Keep 'em coming.
I just visited the St. Lawrence Seaway. It's still kickin'. Hope you do 1960 next, as that's my birth year.
Just slightly before my time. My sister had the original Barbie Doll with the little black and white swimsuit. I remember Busch Gardens in Tampa in the early 1970s and there still wasn't much there yet. I look forward to looking backward at the 60s and 70s!
