A Rage, Justified -

A Rage, Justified -

Dead man - born vegetable -
defied the pronouncements
of white-robed, stethoscopic
gods as he lay on the maternity
room slab.

Is it so shocking then -
that a man weeks late to meet
this earth, a man dead
before the birthing began, a man
who fought to not come -
then fought as hard to stay -
has fought since that morning's
dark light for all he is - and is not?

Is it so shocking that a man
should appear bitter? Should feel
rough to the touch to those unwilling
to know The Conscript?

Is it so surprising Gossamer would learn
to sheath itself in a million harsh
glass crumbs
to survive?
