A Rant on Half-assed People Having Kids

We all as human beings come from and have something called parents.

A male and female had to have intercourse (exceptions being adoption and in vitro fertilization) for us to be conceived and born.

But this rant isn't just about sex per se but about having children and not just one but multiples.

I deep heartily believe that the ability to "make" kids should be a privilege and not a right. Similar to being a licensed driver or having a business.

You need the proper prerequisites-qualifications and training. Right now we have an overwhelming amount of underage parents and also irresponsible adults of age.

And I'm not just referring to the teen mother who is a sophomore in high school but also to the 20-something famous and wealthy celebrity.

On average, one person is added to the U.S. population every 11 seconds. Included in that statistic are the facts that - one person dies every 13 seconds;

one baby is born every 7 seconds; and one person migrates to the United States from another country every 31 seconds.

I know we don't get to choose and pick who our mother and father are.

But we do have to accept and take responsibility for our own actions.

The only true innocent victims are the children, helpless and needy.

But parents need to be more proactive and less reactive. Think and set priorities, "needs"come before "wants".

They need to set strong foundations with principles,morals,virtues and values. The best way to teach their children is leading by example and not "do as I say, not as I do".

Telling is not teaching and learning is changing behavior. As Oprah has said before- "You do better, when you know better".

Life is not easy, or fair . But its not as complicated as people make it out to be.

America's population reached 100 million people in 1915. It reached 200 million 52 years later, in 1967. The Census Bureau says the 400 millionth person is likely to arrive in 2043.

We all make choices and we all have a thing called "free will". We can decide to do good or do bad. Change our realities and our life's path.

Seriously people need to be less selfish and self-involved when they have children and procreate.

It isn't just about "financially" supporting a kid. But also the intellectual and emotional support. So education and knowledge are the key, to inspire and motivate.

To not just have "mini me" run around and fetch the remote for you.

And don't be fooled into thinking that a life without kids is less fulfilling or that you haven't lived until you have kids.

It takes a self assured and confident individual to recognize that being a parent is not just for the first 18 years but a lifetime commitment.

From 1995 to 2005, the U.S. population grew by 10.6 percent, or 29 million people. During that same time period, the population of Europe grew by 504,000 people, or less than 1 percent.

I believe in the freedom to have the right to choose alternatives such as abortion and birth control.

This does not make me a bad person but an informed and open minded individual.

Just the same way some " religious pro life" people "choose" to have sex before marriage, talk about hypocrisy but we do all choose what best suits us.

In the end it is the parents, the mother and father's responsibility and obilgation for "their" children and not societies.
