If all the trees
Were dropped to the ground,
Chopped or burned,
The earth's temperature would rise.
Why?
The shade of trees
That cool the air
Below them,
Would not be
To counter the heat.
Have you never asked yourself
Why the desert is hot,
Compared to a forest
Decorated with green?
No shade with cooled air,
Except shades from the hills,
To offer a mixing place
For cool and warm to meet,
Leaves little cooling
Work to be done.
Left to have fun
When the winter sun
Comes out to undo a chill,
Could lead one to searching
For a cool summer hole,
A cave to crave,
With a vacancy still.

Enjoyed your poem! All the rain forests being cut down defintitely is one of the factors!
Nicely written. I'm still recovering from the death of my cousin last week. The funeral was yesterday and we still have a few of her dogs staying with us. One is going to Florida today to live with my cousin's nephew. cheers
Interesting perspective.
