DuPont is considered to be a leader in offering paint finishings for a variety of products. Their paint is often used during the process of painting your car. This should shed light as to why the company cares about what the number one car color is. Researchers for DuPont conducted the study and found out that white and white metallic were the number one choices among automobile consumers. These results come on the heels of another study the company conducted that 62-percent of the cars sold over the last six months were white. Both results are a natural tie in and show that more people are preferring the color white. DuPont managed to break down their findings into percentages for each market.
The study showed that North American car owners chose white 19 percent of the time in the overall vehicle market. When it came to the truck/SUV market, DuPont discovered that 26-percent of the owners preferred the color white. The color white is also tied with the color black percentage wise when you look at the luxury car market. A study like this is sure to be open to a lot of criticism amongst consumers and industry insiders. This is because there appears to not be that many white cars on the market. The argument for this is that this is a worldwide study and that the color white is very popular in Mexico and Japan. Recent studies have shown that the statement I just made is very true indeed.
White is described as an agent of change. That means the color happens to be one that is capable of opening up the doors to several new colors. Recent trends play a major factor as to why consumers are now choosing white as their color option. White is considered the new trendy color amongst the fashion and furniture industries. Plus, people are realizing that the color white provides a nice palette future customization. Basically, white is the perfect color to purchase because it is also the easiest color for any of us to make changes to if we wanted to.
Silver reigned as the number one choice for seven solid years. Industry insiders felt that it was only a matter of time before people switched to the color white. This is because the trend called for it to happen. Consumers used to love the color black at one time. The color choice amongst consumers has gradually gone in a downward color spiral that has seen the color go from dark to light. White is now the kind of colors and could be on top for a long time coming. You never know, we might see a reversal and be calling silver the top color this time next year.
