These are the ingredients that you need to have and how they should be prepared prior to cooking.
9 ounces of pork that is chopped into the size of small cubes
1 banana flower (otherwise known as banana heart or banana blossom)
2 bunches of bok choy and cut the ends
10 pieces of string beans cut into pieces that are 3 to 4 inches long
3 medium eggplants that are sliced into 1 inch circles
3 tbsp of virgin oil
1/3 tsp of salt
1 large onion
2 cloves of garlic
7 tbsp of peanut butter
2 cups of water
2 oz of annatto
Now that you have all your ingredients ready and prepared, let us go into the actual cooking.
1. Set your stove to a medium setting and heat up a pan for a couple of minutes.
2. After you have finished that, add the 3 tbsp of virgin oil to the pan and wait for another couple of minutes.
3. Next, add in the 2 cloves of garlic. Saute it and you will know it is finished when the garlic turns a golden brown color.
4. When you have finished with that, put in the 9 ounces of pork and saute it with the other ingredients for a few minutes.
5. Add in the 2 cups of water to the pan and wait 5 minutes in order for the pork to soften.
6. Next you will want to put in the sliced pieces of the eggplants. Leave it there for 5 minutes.
7. Then put in the pieces of string beans along with the banana flower. Wait for another 5 minutes.
8. Add in the 2 oz of annatto to enhance the color, 1/3 tsp of salt and the 7 tbsp of peanut butter. Stir all of the ingredients.
9. Next add in the bok choy and leave it for 2 minutes.
This dish wouldn't be complete without the shrimp sauce or what they call in the Philippines, bagoong. It is a condiment. This is to be served with the pork kare-kare.

1 medium onion chopped
½ of a tomato chopped
2/3 cup of water
2 ounces of pork
3 tbsp of virgin oil
1. Wash the anchovies.
2. Set your stove to a medium setting and heat up a pan for a couple of minutes.
3. After you have finished that, add the 3 tbsp of virgin oil to the pan and wait for another couple of minutes.
4. Next, add in the 3 cloves of garlic. Saute it and you will known it is finished when the garlic turns a golden brown color.
5. Then add in the chopped onion and saute it with the garlic for a couple of minutes.
6. Next put in the chopped tomato and saute it.
7. Add in the 2 ounces of pork and saute that as well.
8. Finally, add in the 2/3 cup of water as well as the 5 ounces of shrimp. Let everything sit there for 15 minutes in order for the pork to soften.
