A Response to President of Iran Ahmadinejad's Message to the American People

From an American Citizen

This is a response to the letter written by the Iranian President to the American people. This message can be found on Mahmood Ahmadinejad's blog here.

President Mahmood Ahmadinejad,

I am very impressed by your concern for the American people. The fact that you have been identified to be the ringleader in the 1979 U.S. Embassy takeover where you took at least 6 Americans hostage (source) has no effect whatsoever on my conviction that you are sincere. When you called the hostages pigs and dogs, I am sure you meant that only in the most affectionate way. I would also like to congratulate you on your commitment to human rights and dignity. For example, keeping women in there place by limiting their educational opportunities (source), stoning them when they commit adultery for the good of society (source), beating and arresting women who requests equal rights (source).

Although I shall admit, I was momentarily concerned when I read your statement, "Anybody who recognizes Israel will burn in the fire of the Islamic nation's fury." (source) but quickly realized that is simply a misunderstanding because you obviously love the American people very deeply. I can see where you like to joke around, as is shown here where I found quotes by you denying the holocaust (source). In your message to the American people you mentioned how Iran always extends it's hand of friendship to all other nations, and I could not agree more! I read about how much fun the 15 british sailors had on their little vacation in Iran and wished that I was there (source).

As a concerned American citizen, I cannot thank you enough for taking time out of your busy day to write us. You are obviously a champion for human rights and justice. It is so hard to live in the USA where they don't stone people for adultery, imprison you for speaking your mind and many people here even like and respect the Jews! People can even complain about President Bush on your blog, and our backwards government doesn't even have them arrested. It is just too free here, it is just a crying shame.

In conclusion, I would also like to congratulate you on Iranian nuclear capabilities and your brave defiance of the UN (source). It is unfortunate that other countries are uncomfortable with you having nuclear weapons and choose to sanction Iran. With your history of fighting for human dignity and rights, I cannot understand why any one would be nervous about Iran having nuclear weapons. Have a great day President Ahmadinejad, and thank you for your concern.

Sincerely,

A woman that wouldn't be allowed basic rights in Iran (source).
