One of the first things about the movie is that you don't know when something is real or fake as far as the actual killings or someone dreaming about it. The original male lead in the movie within the movie is supposed to be played by George Clooney. He gets an offer for another job and is about to leave the film. He ends up getting killed very early in the movie though. The female lead in the movie is played by Lori Lethin is really not that great of an actress and while she is not ugly and I am sure many guys would not kick her out of bed, she really does not add anything to the movie. Most horror movies at least give you a hott starlet scream queen to look at.
Long story short is that the principle turns out to be the real killer. He also poses as a custodian that was there at the time of the murders. He has been keeping his daughter who passed away mummified in the school basement and kills anyone who sees or tries to see her. The two main characters finally discover this and the principal are killed by the male lead.
The police investigation of the movie crew murders go on throughout the movie mixed in with various scenes and dreams. The joke turns out to be on them as once the film crew figures out who the killer is they fake all of their own deaths in order to use it in the movie and give it a buzz for the release. The end has a former student who tried to tell what happened lamenting how the film people did not want to know the truth. He then figures there are always sequels and then realizes that his father, who is the principal and killer, did not die and the movie ends. I saw this on cable and free on the internet. It was a waste of time both times. I would not advise watching it unless you are really bored. If you are huge George Clooney fan you can see his parts in the first 20 or so minutes of the movie.
