Appleone employment agency came up many times in my search so I decided to seriously check out what the agency had to offer. I went to the Appleone website and was impressed by the number of openings that were advertised in my area. I filled out my contact information and submitted my resume along with detailed job descriptions and references as to my past performance. I even selected an interview time on the website. Within hours of selecting an interview time at my desired location, I was called to confirm the appointment by a friendly Appleone account executive.
I arrived to my scheduled appointment 15 minutes early and was told to have a seat. After a few minutes, I was asked to hand over my resume along with my drivers license so that copies could be made. After the copies were made, I was given several forms and booklets to read which provided details about Appleone and what I could expect from the entire employment process. After I had reviewed these papers, I was given additional tax forms and watched a 15 minute training video. By the time I had watched the video 45 minutes had passed.
After waiting for a few minutes, I was taken to a computer terminal and given a series of tests. I was informed that the results of the testing would aid the account executive in placing me into an appropriate position. Although I had not been previously made aware of the testing, I thought that the process sounded reasonable.
After testing was completed, I waited to speak with a account executive to finally complete my interview. I sat down with an account executive approximately 90 minutes into the appointment. The account executive was friendly and the interview went very well. She asked about the types of assignments I was looking for including salary and schedule. I was offered a position that was scheduled to start the next Friday. The account executive said that she would call with the detailed information about the position with in a few days. I agreed to the necessary background checks and left the office feeling great.
I was extremely surprised when I was contacted by another account executive within the same office regarding a work assignment. After speaking with this account executive, I immediately contacted my account executive and told her my concern. My account executive told me that she was working with another account executive to fill a position. My account executive sounded surprised when I told her that she had already offered me a position which was scheduled to begin in a few days.
Days turned into weeks as I waited to be contacted about the offered position's start date. I emailed my account executive every few days only to receive vague responses. I finally asked her to tell me the truth behind the delays. My account executive then told me that the company I was scheduled to work for was restructuring and would not be needing any additional help. I asked my account executive why I wasn't informed of this situation earlier. My account executive told me that I should have been still been using other means to find a job. I informed her that I was offended by her statement for several reasons including the fact that I was offered a job and then given the run around.
After I let her know my issues, I was offered a temporary job with a few days. The job that I was offered was nothing like any job we had previously discussed. In fact, it was everything that I said that I did not want in my documented list of job preferences.
I will never know if the job was offered to me out of malice or loss of memory. I decided to take the job because I needed the money at the time. Fortunately, the job did not last long and I have since ended my relationship with Appleone. My advice to anyone considering using Appleone or any other employment agency is to use them with caution. Do not put all of your employment hopes in the hands of another person or organization. Ultimately, you are responsible for your employment.

Post a CommentAppleOne is the worst employment agency in the world. That place is a joke. They told me I was too old, which is against federal regulations. The agents laughed at me and my advanced qualifications. I hate that place. STAY AWAY AND BE WARNED.
do it the old fashioned way.... beat the streets until you find work. employment agencies are swamped right now. don't blame the head hunters and recruiters for the crappy economy... point your finger at the fat cats on wall street and the gov.
bait and switch, sign you up, are promised interviews, promises of being called, promises of having opportunities, even when job boards have posting from them of jobs that have ALL your qualifications, they are BOGUS. STEER CLEAR, it is better to pound the pavement find your own jobs, they don't get the cut, but more importantly you don't have to deal with them doing nothing. They sign you up and then do absolutely nothing. Use your time more effectively, unless you want to waste time. Times are hard, but trying to use a service that does nothing is not using your brain. Believe in yourself, and skip the AppleOne experience, you will be better for it.
Strange tests at this company. And stranger to me, no discussion of the results. What did I answer incorrectly so I know whether or not to drop off mail during lunch or after work?Setup for Failure? They, and others, do not provide all information to you, (contract length before going full-time, etc.) usually unknowingly by you, because you just need a job.Beware of their new tests, PROFILING YOUR BEHAVIOR test. What does this have to do with my ability or skill to do the job?I am not a psychic that is able to foresee some of the questions asked that regard the future. P.S. A skill test relating to the job is no problem for me.
AND NEVER ask questions, they don't like that. Especially, after you are at a job that is not what they described it to be.Scary times.....ALSO, beware of the job you may be sent to as it quite possibly has been held by many other victims and could permanently damage your future reference/job search when it doesn't work for you either.Serious considerat
Apple One in Chesapeake Virginia is not devoted to assisting people with jobs. I did not finish creating an account on their page and I was called stating that I should try different resources. I did submit my resume and I got to the point where I would put in my previous employers. Someone called leaving a voicemail saying that they canceled my interview. The guy who called stated that they are looking for someone with recent work experience. Appleone must not know that some people have been out of work for years because they have been actively looking and have not found jobs. I think Apple One is a load of bull. They are not devoted at all.
I don't think calling apple one every day is the way to find yourself a job - why not go apply where you want to work on your own? These people crack me up when they think that they can't find a job on their own but Apple One should be able to get them one. I was placed direct hire with Apple One 6 months after applying with them. This is a tough market and it is easy to complain, but if you are a qualified job seeker, you better spend your time looking for work and applying to jobs than blaming Apple one and writing on line. Funny world we are in now...blame anyone but yourself.

What most people do not realize is that employment services serve a purpose of providing an additional resource to job seekers...not to discontinue utilizing their other recruiting sources on their own. Many candidates have false expectations on employment services, thinking they will walk out with a job opportunity. That is not the norm. If you take the attitude of registering with the service as something "in addition" to your continued search, you will walk out with a better understanding of the process

After spending a day or two at the temp crown I learned that the pay for this position is $3-4 more than what I was offered... so where my hard working money did went to..? For every hard working day I executed, they company earned $40. Multiply it by 10 days of work. Here's the AE’s commission. Now I’m sure they do find more suckers like me that were desperate enough to take on any gig. DO NOT sign in with them – it’s a rip off!
My relationship with this company, AppleOne, is pretty much the same with everyone else here. A lot of empty promises, zero commendation, and false advertisement on search engines. This company is a joke - a really bad one too.
They placed me in a temp job to cover up their own asses! I came to the initial interview, I didn't get tested or anything. They just shoot me to a location an hour drive away from my house. They did not provide any normal info about the job; they did their best not to give away any useful information unless being asked specifically. Only after sitting down on my temp chair I was allowed to ask for the compensation for this gig. The pay they offered was awful. They didn't pay for my mileage or even for the extra two hours I had to spend on the road. The work itself was 9 hours and adding the extra 2 hours, I ended up working myself off for a minimum wage. That doesn’t even include all the Taxes cut off from the pay stub.
After spending a day or two at the tem
