Atlantica is a new turn based mmorpg game that is currently in beta testing, it has a Final Fantasy meets World of Warcraft feel and look to it. It is free to download and free to play. It is made by Ndoors Interactive, a Korean based company. They are so sure that you will enjoy playing Atlantica that they will buy your character from you for $20 if you do not like their game. The down side to that is your character has to be level 50 exactly.

Atlantica has a fairly good back story; the following excerpt was taken from their website http://atlantica.ndoorsgames.com. "Atlantians became very prosperous after they created the substance called Oriharukon. Wanting to learn the secrets of this mysterious material, many other civilizations implored the Atlantians to share their knowledge, but they refused, closing their door to outsiders. Anyone that persisted, the Atlantians brutally destroyed.

Eventually, the Atlantians exhausted all the supplies of the four crystals, the raw materials for Oriharukon. Their thirst for the crystals led to the destruction of four great civilizations (the Yellow River, the Indus Valley, Mesopotamia, and Egypt), and set them on a path to conquer the world to find more.

But the arrogance and greed of Atlantians would instead lead to their demise. When they lost control of the magic powers generated by Oriharukon, Atlantis disappeared in the blink of an eye. But, remnants of Oriharukon survived."

Game play is easy to follow, quests are easy to find, and the game moves along at a pretty decent speed. In order to attack and get extras from it you have to have stamina. You lose 1 point for every battle that you are in. Below level 50 you are given 100 stamina points everyday plus 20 point carry over from the day before. At 6 am Pacific time you have 120 points to get you through the day of playing. While this may not seem like much, you do get an extra point every 10 minutes you are in game and not fighting.

The group system in Atlantica is a bit different from most other mmorpg's in that you do not have to group with others to have a party. You hire mercenaries to fight along side of you, the number of mercenaries that you have depends on your level. You can group with others, and don't have to fight with them. You don't have to be in the same battles for you both to benefit from the group experience.

Crafting in Atlantica is also different from most other mmorpg games. There are a lot of different things that you can craft, and when you craft battling actually makes your crafting go faster. You set up your crafting queue, and go and fight and after the required number of points you can rinse and repeat the process. You can learn crafting from other players that are at artisan level. Most are willing to teach most craft skills up to level 21 for free as they get experience for doing so.

All in all if you are looking for a new game to play I would suggest that you at least try out Atlantica. Being a free game the only thing you really have to lose is the time that you spend playing. It is a very dynamic game that has the ability to pull you in and keep you playing. There are times in the game that it does have glitches such as the game freezing up, or the graphics acting up and making it a bit difficult to see, however that being said most of Atlantica is glitch free and is a very good game in general.
