A Review of Banana Pear Candle by Our Own Candle Company

I was so excited to see that Our Own Candle Company is listed with an online web store/site. Before discovering they had a site up, I used to buy their candles at my local gift shop, the only place that seemed to sell this delicious candle.

What I Love:

I love how their candles are available with price tags that are reasonable. At only $6.00 a candle you cannot find better.

Yeah Yankee Candle may be a top pick... but Our Own Candle Company is hands down just as good as Yankee. For me, Our Own Candle Company is even better, because you can get a big candle for nearly three times less, than what you would pay for a Yankee.

Anyhow, I have been buying candles from this company for nearly 2 years. Today I figured I will review my most recent purchase, which goes to Banana Pear.

Banana Pear is a lime green color, and comes in a cool mug shaped glass jar. The site refers to it as the 'Mason' jar.

I always purchase the larger of the jars, because they last longer, and you get more for the money. The Mason jar promises 100 hours of burn time.

My Use:

I have Banana Pear burning in my office right now. I feel blessed that my boss lets me burn candles here! I buy one next door every time I run out.
The office is relatively large, with 14 desks, lined up from front to end, and a large open office room in the back. I have no clue how many square feet this place is, but I do know it is big. Probably 8 times the size of a standard living room.

The moment I opened up Banana Pear in the store I knew I would like it. It was an unusual scent for me to pick up, because I truly do not like the smell of bananas or pears.

However when I got a whiff of this candle, I changed my mind. Mesh these two scents together and it is a whole new ball game.

Banana Pear smelled like banana, mixed with juicy pear, and a nice slight tone of caramel! I was not expecting that to be in there, but when burning, Banana Pear smells like all 3 scents mixed together.

Last:

I bought Banana Pear a week ago, and light it up every morning at 9 am to 5pm when I close shop. My candle barley has a dip in it from use. From past experience with Our Own Candle Company though, I can say that their Mason sized jars last the promised 100 hours, and in some cases longer.

Lasting Scent:

Banana Pear can be detected in the room for nearly 3 hours after burning it, and extinguishing the flame. Granted you leave the doors shut though.

Overall:

Our Own Candle Company, Banana Pear is a more warming scent then it is a juicy fruity one. It fills the room with this warm aromatic fragrance, that can be compared to baking a homemade pie.

Where To Buy:

Honestly Cotton Caper is the only place that I know of that sells this candle. Luckily though, I was able to find their official website, where they sell the candle.

Banana Pear is available as melt em's right now (you use these in oil burning lanterns). If you want the candle jar though a quick email to them may be the answer.

Banana Pear delivers a long lasting scent that just about anyone would enjoy.
