A Review of the Best Atlanta BBQ Restaurants

Eileen Thai
If you find yourself in Atlanta, you got to try some Southern food, and what could be more Southern than BBQ? Memphis style, dry rub, tomato-based or vinegar-based sauce, Korean: Atlanta's got it all. Here are some of Atlanta Georgia's best barbecue restaurants:

D.B.A. Barbecue
1190 N. Highland Ave NE
Atlanta, GA 30306
(404) 249-5000
Sun - Thu 11:30 a.m. - 10:00 p.m.
Fri - Sat 11:30 a.m. - 11:00 a.m.

Imagine a neighborhood BBQ restaurant with friendly staff and great food, where you can watch a ball game or two in a comfortable environment. There is one right here in Virginia-Highland, a suburb northeast of Atlanta. D.B.A. Barbecue is a casual neighborhood restaurant and bar that offers regional barbecue, from pulled pork, baby back ribs to smoked turkey and smoked tofu, and a selection of over 40 bottled beers. Favorite side dishes include creamed corn, boiled peanuts, fried corn on the cob, fried pickles, mac 'n' cheese, and banana pudding, the ultimate Southern comfort dessert.

Fox Brothers Bar-B-Q
1238 Dekalb Ave, Ga 30307
Atlanta
(404) 577-4030
Sun -Thu 11:00 a.m. - 10 p.m.
Fri - Sat 11:00 a.m. - 11:00 p.m.

Named as one of the Top 10 BBQ restaurants in the country by MSN.com and Gayot.com, Fox Brothers Bar-B-Q serves up some very flavorful dry-rubbed pulled pork, ribs, chopped brisket and smoked wings. They also make an amazing sauce that is now available at Whole Foods supermarket in Georgia, Alabama, Tennessee and the Carolinas. Innovative sides include a mix of Brunswick Stew with mac 'n' cheese or Brunswick Stew with fries.
Great service, generous portion of delicious food, what's not to like?

Honey Pig
3473 Old Norcross Road
Duluth, Ga 30096
(404) 476-9292
Mon -Thu 11:00 a.m. - 12:00 a.m.
Fri - Sat 11:00 a.m. - 2:00 a.m.

BBQ aficionados may balk at this recommendation, but if you are open to sampling a mouth-watering range of flavors of a new cuisine, Korean Barbecue at Honey Pig is worth a try. Korean BBQ is very popular internationally, and Atlanta has many great Korean restaurants, mostly concentrated around the Duluth area, about 30 minutes from downtown Atlanta. Most Korean BBQ restaurants are equipped with a gas or charcoal grill that is built into the center of the table. At Honey Pig, the grill looks more like an inverted wok. After taking your order, your server brings an assortment of side dishes called Banchan, many of which are pickled vegetables (kimchi and the like) that are designed to stimulate your appetite. Depending on what you order, your server will bring you plates of raw marinated meat or seafood for you to grill at the table. Honey Pig is contemporary, stylish, and very clean. If you are looking for delicious food and a fun experience, Honey Pig is the place to go.
