A Review of Bill and Bob's Jewelry Store in Newington, NH and York Beach, Maine

Never visit Bill and Bob's Jewelry store. There is one store in York Beach, Maine and a store in the Fox Run Mall in Newington, New Hampshire. I have only briefly been through the store located on York beach but the one in Newington has terrible customer service and that is the one I'll be reviewing today.

My sister, cousin and I went into the store to look at the dresses they had. They have some very nice ones in there but all of them are ridiculously overpriced. I've seen the same dresses in there since they opened. They also have a lot of jewelry in there but that is overpriced too. You can go to any other store in the mall and get the same ring for half the price. I'm no saying their jewelry isn't worth it, it isn't ugly jewelry, but it could be better.

I picked up some dresses for my sister to try on since she wanted to get some ideas on what styles she liked. We went to go try them on and she told the fitting room attendant that she was looking at prom dresses but mostly just for fun because she wasn't really sure if she was going or not. As soon as she went to change the attendant went to a woman at the front of the store and told her the situation.

They came back and took the other three dresses off the door while my sister was changing and put the dresses back on the shelves and said we couldn't try them on unless we were serious buyers. For all they knew we could have bought a dress there if she liked one. Well, they just lost that sale. They even stood by us whispering. One of them whispered "They were going to try on the really nice white one."

To make matters worse, the both of them stood beside my cousin and I while my sister was changing the whole time. They looked like they were worried that we were going to intentionally rip the dresses or spill coffee on them or something.

Do they want customers there or do they want dresses to sit in their windows for months? I really don't know. What I do know is that after that experience I will not be returning to Bill and Bob's and I'll tell others about their extraordinarily crappy customer service skills.

Bill and Bob certianly should have controll of their employee's. They are not getting half the bussiness they should be by the looks of it. I refused to buy my wedding gown from there because no one couldn't even speak to me. To have a humanly conversation?? That is NEVER to much to ask, especially in retail. Yeah, and good luck with that.

I went in there a few years ago to get jewelry for my wedding. I picked out a nice set and they told me they would be ready for pick up in a week, which was two days before my wedding. My soon to be husband went in a week later to pick up the jewelry for me, and the lady told him they didn't have it because they had discontinued the line. It was two days before my wedding! I had no call or anything to let me know I couldn't get the pieces I wanted. I had not been in the store since, until today. My daughter and I went in just to look around, and while we were walking around the dresses that were on display one of the lady's working yelled at us to not touch the dresses. Why are they on display then?? We promptly left and I will not be back.

I love there service it is great! You just a dump crap who is to cheap and uncontious about themselves. If you owned that store and paid 500 for each dress and are selling them for 600 would you want worthless people coming and ruining you business if they weren't serious. Please, your a joke. Next time just calm you tits. You just really need to look at it from there point of view. And i somewhat agree SOME of the people that work there are so lazy but they are really nice people. Just tell them...and the rop is there to protect the dresses from people who dont care about things that aren't there. You know how many people rip dresses and have to be marked down and thrown away. They loose so much business. On top of that there are so many low life crap heads that steel from that store. Its wonderful and they actually are really cheep for the quality of the items. if you go somewhere else you get fake jewelery. at there store its actually reall gold and silver that is why i

Thank you so much for all of this. I am a close family friend of the owners and they are like my family so the people you are most likely talking about are not the owners but in fact their employees which they have no control over how they act when they are not there but all they can do is set examples. Their jewelry and dresses are not overpriced but are almost the same price they had to buy them for and everything is really beautiful. So do not go by one persons experience of things cause I can just bet the employee who helped her is still not working there

I don't know of any other store where the dresses are behind ropes, and you can only stand behind the ropes and look from a distance. I am a jewelry maker, and much of the jewelry at B and B's is very high priced for what you get. I noticed that some of the earrings have tarnished findings. They don't look brand new. Not that they have been worn, but they've been sitting on a shelf forever. One $37.99 pair of earrings I could make on my own for probably $1 or less with a few simple parts from a craft store. Ridiculously overpriced!!

Today I was at the Mall shopping with my two daughters for dresses. As we entered Bill and Bob's we were immediately treated poorly!!!!! My daughters are 16 and 17!! As we went to look for a dress the woman told me she did not want my kids tromping through the store!!!!! I was horrified!!!!! At 16 and 17 who tromps???? She grabbed my ARM!!!!!!!! told me that the dresses were too expensive for us!!!!!!! Please, DO NOT SHOP AT BILL AND BOB'S - They are insulting and rude!!!!! BTW I had a $1000.00 cash in my pocket to get the girls whatever they wanted!!!! There loss!!!!!!

I am horrified that they treated someone that way. I was about to go there to look at their dresses for my daughter's up and coming prom. I don't mind paying outrageous prices, as long as the customer service is good. Looks like we will go into Portsmouth. LeBoutique is wonderful and so very helpful. I suggest to go there in the future!

Bill & Bob should learn to treat potential customers better!!! I hope EVERYBODY reads this and heeds your advice!!!!
