It sounds more like a delicious dessert lineup than selections for bath and body products, but don't try eating these products. The first two ingredients in these body mists are alcohol (denat) and water. Fragrance (parfum) is the third ingredient.
At under $10.00 for 8 ounces of body mist, these inexpensive yet tasty little fragrances make a perfect and affordable first perfume for the pre-teen girls on your Christmas or birthday shopping list. (The grown-up girls won't mind receiving them either.) Picture yourself putting together cute gift baskets with a matching set of fragrances.
If you don't feel like putting your own gift basket together, you can also purchase one of the four-piece mist samplers available. One set comes with two ounce bottles of Vanilla Swirl, Cotton Candy, Marshmallow and Orange Pop. The other set includes three two ounce bottles of the Mmmmm! scents and a two ounce bottle of Cocoa Bliss (Chocolate perfume).
The mists come packaged in clear spray bottles with pictures of the delicious inspirations (cotton candy, orange popsicles, brightly colored marshmallows, a vanilla ice cream cone, a halved coconut, and a halved pear) on the bottle. The lotions are in plastic, tubelike, containers.
These fragrances are light and don't overpower your senses. I hate it when you can smell a person's perfume or lotion from across the room. Worse yet is when you are trapped on an elevator or in a car with a person who has put on just a little bit too much fragrance. Politeness demands that you don't say anything and you can't escape. These mists won't do that to you. Their sweet fragrance stays on the skin all day, but doesn't overpower.
My teen daughters taught me a new way to wear fragrance, especially the body mist variety. Spray the mist into the air ahead of you (be careful not to spray at face level-you don't want to get it in your eyes or lungs) and walk into the mist. I like the cool feeling when the mist droplets hit your skin.
I admit that I'm a Vanilla fanatic-I love Vanilla fragrances, so it surprised me to find out that my favorites in this lineup are actually the Coconut Sorbet and the Pear Caramel flavors (I mean fragrances). To me, the Pear Caramel scent actually evokes a pear or apple. The Coconut Sorbet is sweet without being overpowering. I can't actually smell any caramel, unless it's just the overall sweet scent. The Coconut Sorbet is a light and sweet scent that somehow seems to cheer you up.
The Marshmallow and Orange Pop scents are as popular with pre-teens as real marshmallows and orange Popsicles are. They just love spraying on these sugary scents-it makes them feel so grown up to have their own perfume. It's also a perfume you can feel good about giving them, the scent is not too grown-up or sophisticated.
Officially, these scents don't count as essential oils (at least on the lists I found) such as those used in aromatherapy. However, the familiarity of the scents from favorite childhood desserts evokes happy memories for me. Who doesn't like cotton candy or marshmallows? I find these scents to be fun and mood lifting.
Calgon has built a reputation on products that make you forget day-to-day stresses and worries. These new dessert-like products do just that. The only danger is, you just might want taste them.

Post a CommentI love Berry Bliss! However, I can usually only find it at Christmas time. Has it been discontinued?
I love the vanilla swirl, and marshmallow. I have to ask though are there any berry bliss lovers out there?? I must say then that cotton candy is the closest to it and would not even think so.

I smelled the Coconut, Vanilla, Pear, and Marshmallow... and I loved them all... but the vanilla is kind of plain to me. But I found them at Fred Meyers =)
